Summer Research Interns Find More Than a Lab at Westlake The Westlake Summer Research Internship offers one-month opportunities to both Chinese and international undergraduate students. This year, the program welcomed 167 Chinese students from 94 universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Science and Technology of China, as well as overseas institutions such as Yale University.

Forget the Labels, These Pioneering Ph.D. Students Just Want To Push Boundaries A select band of students have sailed through on a fast track to secure their places in one of Westlake's most intriguing summer camps. The 15 students had received early good news from the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies that they passed the doctoral admissions assessment and are about to become members of Westlake's 2026 Ph.D. cohort—the first such intake from the center.

New International Life Sciences Journal to Debut This Spring The first issue of Vita, a top-tier international scientific journal that will focus on the fields of life sciences and biomedicine, will debut this spring. It will be published by China's Higher Education Press, led by Westlake University, and jointly developed by member institutions of the recently formed Life Sciences Open Alliance.

Westlake Undergraduates Head to Berkeley, Edinburgh and Beyond for Study Abroad While the new freshmen in 2025 celebrated their admission to Westlake University, two of their senior classmates, Wenhao Zhou and Zhonghe Huang, were already seated in a classroom at Monash University in Australia.
